Q: What should I do if I don’t have PayPal or if the online registration is closed?

A: If you don’t have PayPal, please use Zelle to send your registration fee to capickleballassociation@gmail.com. Please include full name, email and division in the notes.

Q: How can I withdraw from the tournament before the deadline?

A: To withdraw, email capickleballassociation@gmail.com with your withdrawal request. Your name will be removed from the event player list, and a refund will be processed after the registration deadline. Please note a $3 PayPal processing fee will be applied to each withdrawal transaction. Alternatively, you can choose a full credit for future CAPA tournaments. Indicate your preference in the email.

Q: Where can I find the event player list or information about finding a partner?

A: Visit the tournament page and you will find buttons linking to:

  • Player list

  • Brackets

  • Players needing partners

Q: How many events can I participate in, and what level should I register for?

A: You can join multiple events as long as you meet the DUPR rating requirements. For example, a 55-year-old male player can participate in men’s 4.5 50+, Mixed 4.5 50+, and 40+ Open if desired.

Q: What are the age requirements for divisions?

A: Both partners must meet the age requirement for a division. For the 50+ division, both partners must be 50 years old or older. For example, if one partner is 49, you cannot register for the 50+ division.

Q: What is the tournament format for brackets with 5-10 teams?

A:

  • 5 teams: Double round robin, 1 game to 11, win by 1.

  • 6-7 teams: Single round robin, 1 game to 15, win by 1.

  • 8-10 teams: Single round robin, 1 game to 11, win by 1.

  • 11-20 teams: Divided into two groups, top two from each group advance to medal rounds. Medal round will be one game to 15, win by 2. 

  • 21-40 teams: Divided into four groups, top two from each group advance to quarterfinals. Playoff will be one game to 11, win by 2. 

  • Combined age brackets: Medals awarded separately for 8+, 35+, and 50+, according to overall records, including matches against other age groups. 

  • Future Open: Single round robin, 1 game to 11, win by 1.

  • 40+ Open: Divided into two groups, 1 game to 15, win by 1. Top two from each group advance to the semifinals. Playoff will be one game to 15, win by 2. 

  • Mixed Open: Divided into two groups, 1 game to 11, win by 1. Top four from each group advance to quarterfinals. Playoff will be one game to 15, win by 2. 

  • Open: Divided into four groups, 1 game to 11, win by 1. Top two from each group advance to quarterfinals. Playoff will be one game to 15, win by 2. 

Q: How is medal placement determined?

A: Top 3 finishers are awarded medals based on:

1. Total number of wins

2. Wins against head-to-head teams

3. Total points earned

4. Total points differential

Q: What should I bring to the tournament?

A: Bring your own chair, water, snacks, and USAPA-approved paddle. Our goal is to ensure a fun and friendly competition with great prizes!

Q: How long does it take for matches to upload to DUPR, and what if I have questions about DUPR results?

A: Matches will be recorded to your DUPR account within 2 weeks after the tournament. For adjustments or questions, email capickleballassociation@gmail.com. For DUPR results and app-related questions, email support@mydupr.com.
